Challenge
Nike needs to engage athletes and lifestyle consumers across multiple personas while maintaining brand consistency. Traditional campaigns often require large teams and long timelines. I wanted to see if AI could speed up this process
and still feel authentically Nike.
Approach
I designed an AI Creative Lab workflow:
Audience insights → Generative ideation → Human refinement → A/B testing → Optimization.
- Audience insight analysis: identifying three key archetypes (Urban Athlete, Nature Explorer, Luxury Minimalist).
- Generative prototyping with MidJourney, Runway, and Suno.
- Human refinement: aligning ads with Nike’s brand standards.
- A/B Testing simulation: comparing product-first ads with lifestyle-first ads.
- Final polish: adapting ads for Instagram, Facebook, and Threads.
Execution
I explored three creative archetypes to test how Nike could tell stories for different audiences.
- Urban Athlete – neon city grit, speed, street performance.
- Nature Explorer – earthy tones, outdoors, authentic adventure.
- Luxury Minimalist – sleek, high-fashion, monochrome premium aesthetic.



A/B Testing Approach
- Objective: Compare performance between product-focused ads and lifestyle-driven ads featuring real athletes/models.
- Method:
- Version A – Product-focused ads: sneakers spotlighted in bold, cinematic ways.
- Version B – Lifestyle-focused ads: real athletes/models in authentic environments.
- AI Execution: MidJourney prompts generated persona-specific ads with realistic models styled to Nike standards.
- Result (Hypothetical):
- Lifestyle-driven ads (Version B) showed 25% higher engagement and stronger emotional connection.
- Product-focused ads (Version A) performed better for click-throughs and conversions.
- Key Learning: Lifestyle-driven ads showed stronger emotional connection, while product-driven ads performed
better on conversions.
